How 360marketview works — getting started, connecting ChatGPT and Claude to your portfolio, and exactly how every number is made.

360marketview is a **portfolio tracker and stock research desk**. You record what you bought and sold — or import your broker’s monthly statement — and it works out everything else: what you hold, what it cost, what you have made, and how you did against the market. Around your portfolio it shows what is happening to each company: reports, analysts, insiders, members of Congress, dividends and dates ahead. **360 AI** explains it in plain words, and **ChatGPT and Claude** can read it too.

It is **not a broker**. It never places a trade, never holds your money and never asks for your broker’s password.

## Start here

[Quickstart](/docs/quickstart/)Create your account, add what you own, read your dashboard.

[Connect ChatGPT or Claude](/docs/mcp/connect/)Ask about your own portfolio from the AI app you use.

[How your numbers are calculated](/docs/reference/calculations/)Average cost, profit, cash, and the time-weighted return.

[Where the data comes from](/docs/reference/data-sources/)Your records, official filings, market data — and how fresh each is.

## The idea behind it

**Your records are the source of truth.** Holdings, cash, average cost and profit are never typed in or stored as totals: they are calculated again from your dated trades and cash movements, with exact decimal arithmetic. Add a trade you forgot from last March, and every figure since then is recalculated from it. That is why the numbers can be trusted, and why 360 AI, ChatGPT and Claude quote them rather than work them out.

## For AI assistants

This documentation is also available as plain text: every page has **Copy page** and **View as Markdown** in its menu, and [`/llms.txt`](/llms.txt) lists the site for AI assistants.
