Ask
The lowest price a seller will accept for a share right now.
Sellers' waiting orders are ranked by price, and the ask is the lowest of them: the cheapest you can buy at this moment. If you buy with a market order, you buy at the ask — or higher, if your order is larger than what is offered there.
The ask is sometimes called the offer.
