Candlestick chart

A price chart that shows each period's open, high, low and close as one candle.

Each candle's thick body runs from the open to the close; thin wicks reach the high and the low. It is usually green when the period closed above its open and red when it closed below.

One candle covers whatever the time frame says — a few minutes, a day or a week.
