Holding (position)

One thing you own in your portfolio, and how much of it.

A holding — also called a position — is one asset in your portfolio: 25 shares of a company, say, or 8 units of an ETF. Its market value is the quantity times the current price.

For each holding you can see what you paid (its cost basis), what it is worth now, and the difference — your unrealized gain or loss.
